I had finally saved, and coughed up the $700+ for Brooke to dance!!! (I know INSANE!) This was in June.
It is now October, dance is starting in November.
Last weekend, we had Emmit's initiation evaluations for hockey. My wonderful brother and sister in-law handed down some perfect starter equipment; that we find out on the early Saturday skate; is too big! Saturday night, Emmit gets new, smaller equipment. Fantastic! Brooke puts on the youth large equipment, looks at me, smiles, says 'Mom, I want to play hockey!'
Today, on my to-do list, I am pulling Brooke out of dance, and enrolling her into hockey. I think it's fantastic!
This is where my 'mom worry' comes in. I know I'm just protecting her from hurt but...
I don't need her little girlfriends, and cousins who are in dance tell her that hockey is for boys... kids can be SO extremely mean!!
Hockey is NO LONGER just for boys!!!
I hope she can remain strong and confident and kick some ass in hockey!! I support her decision 100% and I'm SO proud to have a hockey family! :)
Weekends will be spent at the rink. I can't wait! :D
